Straight out of Columbus, Ohio and a true Buckeye, Benjamin Cohen will be a Junior at Columbia College Chicago this upcoming fall majoring in Film and minoring in Creative Advertising. Benjamin first started with IWN in the Summer of 2012 as a video editor, producer, and marketing associate. After running a few social media accounts, Benjamin really started to see how to connect the Film and the Advertising together. He now focuses heavily on both, but pursing film until another door opens. He could not be happier to join the IWN team!

My name is Adam Benavides and I have recently graduated from New Mexico State University with a BA in English. For the past several years I have worked on various PR and Marketing campaigns at my University and while studying abroad in Milan, Italy. I would like to continue to direct my career in the Public Relations and Professional Communication field, and IWN has proven to be a great opportunity for both. My name is David Combs. My plan is to become capable of working in any and every part of the media/entertainment industry. Currently, I am studying music business management at Columbia College Chicago. This will be immediately followed by graduate study in arts, entertainment and media management. In addition to a solid education, I firmly believe in real world experience. After spending time in radio, television, and music related positions, IWN Inc has presented an opportunity to take on new challenges and risks. Since the company is in its startup stages, I can often see the impact of what I do very quickly while also keeping long term business goals in mind. Hi, my name is Amanda Rottmann! I’m currently a Senior at the University of Kentucky (GO CATS!) My major is Integrated Strategic Communications with a focus on Creative Advertising and a minor in Art. I tend to use the right side of brain in all aspects of life and enjoy seeing the creative side of everything. If you give me directions somewhere, you better give me visual references, that’s just how my mind works. I’m always seeking internship opportunities and any experience I can get my hands on. I’m currently an intern at Internet Webpages Newspaper, Inc. Our main project for the summer is The 2nd Annual Chicago International Blog Awards, and I’m in charge of the Advertising and Copywriting of this event…yippee, the fun stuff! Besides Advertising, the things I enjoy most are walking the streets of big cities, listening to live music and drinking microbrews with good company – and Chicago is the perfect place for all the above!

My name is Michelle McConnaughey and I’m a junior at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Up until this summer, I was attending the University of Iowa. I decided to transfer due to the incredible opportunities for me in the city of Chicago. I’m studying Journalism and Communications. I love writing in my free time, but I’m also a huge talker. I’m very outgoing and love working with others. That is one of the great reasons why I love working at Internet Webpages Newspaper. It gives me an incredible opportunity to work with students much like myself, that are determined and excited about our projects. I’m getting real life experience with people who are just as determined as I am. I absolutely love the fact that I am getting a chance to show my qualities and talents with IWN.

Today at the Internship Academy, the Director of Sales and Sponsorship, Kaitlyn Unger, trained our newest intern. Jayla Rufus is currently a high school student in the downtown Chicago Area. Kaitlyn took the time today to show Jayla how to perform administrative tasks. Jayla has done a great job catching on and she is a wonderful asset to our team.

IWN Establishes Academy as Non-Profit Organization

Internet Webpages Newspaper, Inc has established a separate legal entity to manage paid internships. Internet Webpages Newspaper Internship Academy, Inc. is non-profit organization registered with the Illinois Secretary of State and has it’s own Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN).

Tax Exemption Status

Before the end of 2012, IWN Internship Academy will apply for tax exemption under code 501c3 with the Internal Revenue Service. If the future application, yet to be filed, is granted and approved, IWN Internship Academy expects to receive tax-deductible contributions from Internet Webpages Newspaper, Inc. that will help fund paid internships and expand the mission and objectives of IWN Internship Academy.
